Sensitive Coexistence. Such a simple concept. We see it all around us in nature. Each taking what it needs. In turn, providing what it can. Yes of course this is a complex interrelationship between all parts of the universe, constantly in change. Knowing or not, each plays a role.
Enter humanity. Full of ego and miscommunication, we now have one part of the system that thinks he is the master of all. How is it that humanity thinks that it can take all is wants regardless of the damage it inflicts on other natural systems? Basak Doga Temur thoughtfully states, “It is possible to exist together without diminishing one another.” We must stop seeing nature as property. And maybe then we can begin to respect all objects and organisms as equal to us.
Power. Thirst for wealth. Self-importance. Astonishing how humanity has an endless capacity for convincing itself that its desires justify excessive wealth, control, and power. At any expense. By any means. Lying. Killing. Stealing. Conquest. Invasion. Exploitation. “It disgusts me,” says Nilbar Gures, “when people think they deserve nothing but the best for themselves, because that always comes at the expense of others.”
Sensitive coexistence. How about we start putting that out in the universe?
